Commission an artwork

A bespoke artwork allows you to be involved in creating something that is individual, personal and one of a kind for your home.

Commissioning an artwork may seem daunting but it isn't! I'm here to help you get the best from your space and guide you through. Below I set out how easy it is to start the process and how I will work with you.

I can help you pick the right materials

Canvas, paper, board, framed, oil, acrylic, inks... it can be overwhelming. I will explain fully what different effects these will produce, what this means for cost and for time.

My knowledge of materials means if you are working to a budget I can suggest ways to reduce cost, or if your timescale is tight a change of painting medium or framing. During our discussions we will look at colour samples, textures and examples of other work so I can get an idea of what you want.

You can be confident I will meet the deadline

Surprise gift, decoration deadline? whatever your timescale I will work with you to make sure it's met. However,  a big proportion can be the consultation, making sure the commission is right - colour, theme and style.

I will never start a commission unless I'm fully confident the timescale can be met. You will have to wait longer than an "off the peg or wall" artwork but it will be something you have helped create - that's the magic with commissions.

A full quote and no hidden extras

A commission is an investment, it's because of the time taken to discuss, plan and produce the work. It means you will have exactly what you want and that increases the cost.

Before starting you will be given a full price quote that details all your requests. A deposit will be taken before starting and final payment taken upon completion

I will keep in contact throughout the process

Before the commission starts I will discuss with you exactly what you want and I will not start until I'm sure we have had a rigorous consultation. Colour palettes, medium choices, framing will all be decided before I start and you will be involved with this. If you want I will send progress shots throughout the making.
