Looking Onwards
Part of the horizon series:
This series explores connections with nature and the meditative value of looking towards a horizon and the grounding it gives.
There's something calming looking out to sea. There is a point at which you know things continue but you can't see it; where the sky blends into the sea.
It reminds me of trust, of believing in your instincts and to have faith that if you keep going things will become clear.

About
I'm inspired by the materials that create the work, I love pushing the paint around but also letting it move on its own.
I love seeing how colours glisten when wet but become translucent when dry.
I'm interested in the balance between what you can and cannot control; life, nature and paint!
I love how a choice of colour can transport you to a memory, or a shape can send you off in a dream.
I find inspiration everywhere but am particularly drawn to nature, landscapes and the sea.
My work is sometimes abstract sometimes expressionism and sometimes abstract expressionism. Or simply put I rarely do realistic paintings. It’s about movement, materials, emotion and the impression of spontaneity.
